Webinar Overview

Are you planning new construction, renovation, major capital equipment purchases, or other improvement projects? State and federal funds can assist with infrastructure projects but in today’s competitive market, infrastructure projects need more than just a little pizzazz to win grants.


Educational Objectives

The webinar will cover strategic planning for capital improvement programs and touch upon such areas as budgeting, planning documents and policies, scheduling, and the capital improvement plan itself. It will also provide advice on how to best position local infrastructure projects for state and federal funding programs.


Who Should Attend?

Local government public works staff, grant managers, finance staff, parks personnel, community developers, facilities staff, city managers, and elected officials.


Presenters

Stevan Gorcester is the owner of Performance Plane LLC and previously served as Director of the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board for 15 years. His programs invested more than $1.5 billion in street and sidewalk repairs across Washington. After years of risky over programming, Steve established long-term financial security and introduced strong incentives for sustainable design. Steve now works as consultant and teaches a popular course on Lean government.

Judy Isaac, MRSC’s Procurement & Public Works Consultant, will serve as the webinar moderator. Judy has both public and private procurement experience, which most recently includes working with various cities and other local government agencies.  She holds a CPSM certification from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and membership in the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP).

If you are registered for the webinar and unable to attend, you will still be able to view the recorded webinar afterwards. However, if you cancel your registration, you will not receive a link to the recording.
