Webinar Overview

This webinar will provide an overview of the requirements for public works contracting and the related processes that require agency attention. It is recommended for any agency employee who wants to get familiar with public works contracting.


Educational Objectives

During this webinar, information will be presented on:

  • Contracting requirements regarding public works and prevailing wages,
  • Bidding thresholds for various contracting methods,
  • Processes for these contracting methods, including use of the small works roster,
  • Exemptions from competitive bidding, special conditions and emergencies, and
  • Other considerations that guide contracting decisions.

Who Should Attend?

Contracting and purchasing staff and anyone new to public works who need to be aware of contracting-related processes. Also for those staff who oversee or initiate projects but may not have a direct hand in the procedures.


Presenters

  • Judy Isaac, CPSM, Procurement and Public Works Contracting Consultant, MRSC. Judy joined MRSC in 2017, and prior to that, she worked as the Purchasing Manager for KCDA Purchasing Cooperative. Judy has also held purchasing positions with the cities of Redmond and Shoreline. Working in areas of procurement and project management has provided Judy significant experience in both the public and private sectors.

  • The Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP) will provide one (1) training scholarship per member-county for this webinar. Refund policy: Refunds of the webinar fee will be provided minus a $5.00 administrative fee if registration is canceled by 12 PM on Tuesday, Feburary 16, 2021. However, if you cancel your registration, you will not receive a link to the recording.
