Workshop Overview

This full-day program will provide an overview of the requirements necessary in performing procurement and public works contracting responsibilities. It will include statutory references and practical tips, first-hand advice on conditions and situations that impact prevailing wages and contractor law from Labor and Industries, and insight from the Department of Revenue on related tax issues and their role in the public works process.

Educational Objectives

This training will provide resources for identifying your agency requirements in purchasing and contracting, as well as tips and information that will help your procedures remain compliant.  You’ll receive information on prevailing wage requirements, retainage release, plus a description of common pitfalls and how to avoid them.  In addition, you’ll get an understanding of tax issues and the role of the Department of Revenue.
