General MRSC Library Policies
MRSC Loan Policies
Most materials in the MRSC library can be loaned to persons who are employed by a Washington county, city, town or special district. Items that do not circulate include the municipal codes, legal reference books, and journals. MRSC's loan period for most items is 21 days depending upon the demand for the publication.
MRSC Library Loan Policy
Borrowers are responsible for renewing or returning items borrowed. Notification about the library loan policies, including fines, will be mailed with each loan of library materials.
If a loan item is not returned or renewed within 10 days of the due date, a $10 charge will be assessed per item.
As a reminder, MRSC will send out overdue notices twice a month: on the 1st and the 14th of each month regarding the status of overdue items.
If an item is not returned within 60 days of its due date (total 81 days from date checked out with 21-day loan), it will be considered lost. Lost items will be billed at current replacement cost, including shipping and handling fees charged by the publisher/seller. In addition MRSC will assess a $25 processing fee to cover the costs of ordering and recataloging the item. If the item cannot be purchased, MRSC will charge a photocopying fee of twenty-five ($ .25) cents a page, plus the processing fee.
If a patron renews within the 21-day loan period, a new due date will be assigned and no fee charged. In special cases, MRSC may allow the renewal of materials needed longer than the regular loan period.
MRSC has the discretion to waive fines for unusual circumstances.
