Webinar Overview

A discussion of tax increment financing now available to cities, counties, and port districts in Washington State to finance public improvements and encourage private development.

  • Restrictions on increment areas
  • How tax allocation is calculated on property taxes

Who Should Attend?

Management, finance and/or legal staff from cities, counties, and port districts, as well as elected officials from these jurisdictions.


Presenters

  • Bob Stowe, Real Estate and Community Development Strategist, Stowe Development & Strategies. Bob Stowe, a former city manager, has more than 34 years of experience in real estate and community development. He helps agencies with their redevelopment efforts from the dream-stage to construction.  
  • Eric Lowell, Finance Consultant, MRSC. Eric Lowell joined MRSC in December 2020 as a Finance Consultant after working in local finance for over 14 years. He gained his experience working for a local city and a special purpose district. At MRSC, Eric provides guidance to local government on various financial issues.

Credits

This training is eligible for:

  • 1.0 credit of CPE for certified public accountants
  • A credit toward a Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) for elected officials through the Association of Washington Cities

Payment Policy: Payment for this webinar is completed online by credit card only. If you need to be billed, there will be a $5.00 administrative fee added to your registration fee. Please contact jrice@mrsc.org if you need to request an invoice for this webinar.

Refund Policy: Refunds of the webinar fee will be provided in full if registration is canceled before Wednesday, February 2 at 11:59 PM. After that, refunds will be provided minus a $5.00 administrative fee up until the start of the webinar. Please contact jrice@mrsc.org if you need to request a refund on the morning of the webinar.

If you are registered for the webinar and unable to attend, you will still be able to view the recorded webinar afterwards. However, if you cancel your registration, you will not receive a link to the recording.
