Beginning January 1, 2027, Washington's small works roster thresholds will increase, allowing more public works contracts to be awarded using the small works roster process. While the direct contracting limit remains unchanged at $150,000, agencies should begin preparing now to comply with the new requirements and maximize their use of the small works roster.

This webinar will explain the changes enacted through HB 2420 and help agencies identify updates needed to resolutions, procurement procedures, forms, and public-facing materials before the new thresholds take effect. We'll also discuss practical approaches to both small works roster administration and direct contracting, with a focus on agencies that manage public works projects on an as-needed basis and who may have limited opportunities to implement business utilization plans, contractor rotation practices, and project forecasting approaches as envisioned by the statute.
