MRSC Board President Cynthia Martinez wishes to share the following message with our state and local government partners:
After 13 years of service at the Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC), Executive Director Tracy Burrows is retiring effective October 31, 2024.
13 Years of Dedicated Service
Tracy has served as Executive Director since September 2011, and she has been an outstanding leader during her tenure. Her vision and commitment over the past 13 years have expanded MRSC’s capacity to deliver timely, relevant guidance and training to meet local government needs. She and her team have successfully diversified MRSC’s funding, expanded MRSC’s services, modernized MRSC’s technological and organizational capabilities, quickly and proactively adapted to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and fostered a healthy workplace culture that strives to maintain a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
The Board of Directors extends its deepest gratitude to Tracy for her exceptional service and unwavering commitment to MRSC’s mission of providing independent, accurate, and objective guidance to government agencies throughout Washington State. Her leadership leaves a lasting impact on the organization and the cities, counties, special purpose districts, and state agencies it serves.
Search for Successor Underway
The Board of Directors is committed to ensuring a seamless and successful transition and has initiated the search for a new Executive Director. An executive search firm will be hired to help identify and recruit qualified candidates, and MRSC staff will be actively engaged during the process.
We are confident that, thanks to MRSC’s strong foundation, we will build on Tracy’s legacy and continue to thrive under the leadership of our next Executive Director.
